Walter Leitner

Born 1963; 1989 PhD, Regensburg (H. Brunner); 1990 Post-Doc Dyson Perrins Laboratory, Oxford (J. M. Brown); 1991-1992 Liebig Scholar, Regensburg; 1992-1995 Max-Planck-Arbeitsgruppe CO2-Chemie, Jena (E. Dinjus); Habilitation 1995, Jena; since 1995 Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Mülheim/Ruhr and Lecturer at the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena, since 1998 supervisor of the central high pressure and large scale synthesis facilities of the MPI für Kohlenforschung (Technical Laboratories). Since april 2000 acting director of the Lehrstuhl for Chemie and Petrochemie at the RWTH Aachen.
Since February 2002 Dr. Leitner holds the chair of Technical Chemistry and Petrochemistry at RWTH Aachen (successor to Prof. Keim). December 2002: Appointment as Auswärtiges Wissenschaftliches Mitglied of the Max-Planck-Instituts für Kohlenforschung.
